Missi Roti
Ingredients:
- Whole wheat flour: 2 tbsp
- Gram flour: 1 tbsp
- Moong dal/ any left over dal: 2 tbsp
- Cumin powder: ½ teaspoon
- Garam masala: ½ teaspoon
- Coriander powder: ½ teaspoon
- Turmeric: ¼ teaspoon
- Water: as per requirement
- Ghee: 2 tsp
Preparation:
- Heat about 1 cup of water in a pan or a vessel
- Turn off the flame once the water starts boiling: add moong dal to this boiling water then cover the pan with a lid. Keep aside for 20 min.
- Then strain the water, keeping it in a separate bowl.
- You can use any leftover dal as well.
- Take the cooked moong dal in a bowl, then add the whole wheat flour, garam flour salt, turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon oil, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder to it. Add a teaspoon of ghee to this mixture and mix well.
- Now add the water from the drained moong dal in parts to kneed into a dough. (if using any leftover dal, use fresh water.
- When it is ready, divide the whole dough into small bowls. Roll these bowls into medium chapattis.
- Heat a tawa and cook the rotis on a medium flame until they tirn golden on both the sides. Use ghee to cook the rotis.
- Serve hot with curd/ any vegetable.
